Dr. Ilja Seifert, a member of Bundestag, chairperson of ABiD, wrote a letter to the participants of the international conference. “Unfortunately my work as a member of Bundestag didn’t let me take part in conference personally. But members of ABiD who are excellent experts will enrich the conference with professional knowledge and understanding the persons concerned”. Dr. Seifert paid a lot attention in his letter to the problem of discrimination: “Discriminations are very humiliating, insulting and hurting. Nevertheless, they happen almost every day and almost everywhere. Sometimes they are hidden, sometimes open and violent. Some of them even get the support of the state, others are based on all types of prejudices. Anyway, they violate human rights, human dignity. We all need equality before the law. Such equality protects people from discrimination in the state governed by the rule of law.
