Regional stage of the informational campaign “Accessibility” held by the Office for the rights of persons with disabilities has started. First informational days were held in Grodno and Brest.
The coordinator of the Office for the rights of persons with disabilities Sergey Drozdovskiy spoke to the representatives of public, mass-media, NGOs and state organizations. The main topic discussed by the gathered people was the accessibility in the sphere of disability: architectural, economic, mental and legal accessibility. A lot of attention was paid to the UN Convention on the rights of persons with disabilities and the mechanisms of protection of persons with disabilities.
Free legal consultation for persons with disabilities was working during the informational days. Next informational days will be held in Vitebsk (February 8th), Mogilev (February 15th) and Gomel (February 16th).
The final meeting of the regional stage of the informational campaign “Accessibility” will be held on February 21st in Minsk.
