Office for the Rights of People with Disabilities welcomes You.
We are the team of professionals who gathered for joint work on defence of the rights of people with disabilities living in the Republic of Belarus. For a long time in our country there had been a situation when people with disabilities had no possibility to take part in social life of the society, they had to chance to live life of full value. Office’s activity is aimed at changing our society, making it free from barriers and prejudices. To rebuild it in such a way, that people with disabilities would become its equal members, able to take part in all the spheres of life. The Office is protecting the rights of people with disabilities and promotes understanding of disability as the problem of human rights observance. In our activities we are guided by the values and provisions of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.

OUR ACTIVITIES

Office for the Rights of People with Disabilities is a non-profit organization. Being human rights defence organization, the Office renders legal assistance and consultations on questions of the rights of people with disabilities and on the realization of these rights.
The Office creates and promotes innovation resources and services for people with disabilities: accessibility databases, guides, maps.
The Office is involved in educational activity: holding of seminars and trainings, round tables, publishing topical literature.
The Office prepares and publishes different monitoring and researches on the rights of people with disabilities:

- Monitoring of legislation
- Monitoring of people’s appeals and most demonstrative situations of violation of people’s with disabilities rights.
- Expert materials on the experience and the perspectives of European and world practices of observance of the rights of people with disabilities.

The Office proposes initiatives on improving the national legislation in relation to people with disabilities.
We are open for cooperation and can be partners to state and NGO international structures and persons in promoting the rights of people with disabilities.
