On January 27th the Office for the rights of persons with disabilities took part in round table “Partnership without limitations”, organized by the office of the International Children’s Fund.

The main goal of the event was the raise of the potential and the effectiveness of organizations working for persons with disabilities through the involvement of interested parties and partnership development.

Minsk, January 24, 2012. Round table on topic “Accessibility of insurance services for persons with disabilities” was held in Minsk. The event was initiated and organized by the Office for the rights of persons with disabilities and International social-economic fund “Idea”. The main topic was the discussion of the accessibility for persons with disabilities of insurance services, such as accident insurance and insurance for going abroad – these two types of insurance are not available for persons with 1st and 2nd groups of disabilities in the majority of Belarusian insurance companies.

On January 23rd Vitebsk joint organization of NGO “Republican association of wheelchair-bound disabled” with the support of the Office for the rights of persons with disabilities started to realize the project “Labour overcomes barriers”. Project’s main goal is to hold the research of employment and the accessibility of job placement for persons with disabilities in Vitebsk and to find out the weak points in this sphere. All the gathered data will be analyzed and compared. Round table and the presentation of the research results will be held to summarize the results of the project.

Round table, organized by NGO “Belarusian association of social workers” took place on December 7, 2011. The main topic was: social adaptation of persons with disabilities.
