In the period from January 31 till February 21, 2012 the Office for the rights of persons with disabilities is holding regional stage of informational campaign “Accessibility”. Informational days will be held in oblast centers of the country according to the following schedule:
31.01 – Grodno (Address: Budenogo str. 48a office 62)
01.02. – Brest (Address: café “Feia” Pushkinskaya str 16/1)
08.02 – Vitebsk (the address will be given later)
15.02 – Mogilev (the address will be given later)
16.02 – Gomel (the address will be given later)
The series of events of the regional stage will be finished in Minsk on February 21st.
The goal of these events is informing public about the rights of persons with disability, about the Office for the rights of persons with disability, Convention for the rights of persons with disabilities (UN), about the mechanisms of protection of the rights of persons with disabilities. And also the demonstration of examples of campaigns and projects aimed at the defence of the rights of persons with disabilities. Sergey Drozdovskiy, the coordinator of the Office for the rights of persons with disabilities, will be one of the speakers during the event. He will tell about the ongoing informational campaign “Accessibility”.
We invite representatives of local authorities, mass-media, state social services, students and teachers of educational establishments, law enforcement, medical workers, lawyers, businessmen, employers, disability NGOs, civic society to take part in the meetings.

Free legal consultation for persons with disabilities will be working during all the informational day (11.00-15.00). Consultations will be given by the jurist consultant of the Office for the rights of persons with disabilities. Special information materials, books and manuals will be presented. We remind, that the events are held in the frames of informational campaign “Accessibility”, which main goal is the elimination of all kinds of barriers in the sphere of disability – architectural, legal, economical, mental. The campaign is held under the slogan – “Every society is as strong, as its members are”.
